Support

We're a small team and we genuinely want Coffer to work well for you. If something isn't clear, isn't working, or could be better — let us know.

Email us: support@sakshamvirmani.com
We typically reply within 1–2 business days. Include your iOS version and a brief description of the issue so we can help faster. Please remove real financial details from screenshots or data files before emailing them.

Getting started

Coffer is a manual-entry money & budget tracker — you add what you own and log what you spend, and Coffer organises it. There's no bank linking, no login to external accounts, and no automatic import of transactions. This is by design: your ledger stays on your device and, when iCloud sync is active, in your private CloudKit database.

Quick Log with AI

Instead of filling in a transaction field by field, you can type a plain-English description — e.g. “lunch 450 from HDFC” — and Coffer will pre-fill the amount, account, category, and date for you to review and confirm. Nothing saves until you confirm it.

Importing CSV or XLSX

Coffer can import holdings from a CSV or XLSX file. To import:

The selected file is processed entirely on your device — it is never uploaded anywhere. If your CSV doesn't map cleanly, email us a sample (with dummy data is fine) and we'll help you format it.

Multi-currency & foreign exchange

Coffer supports 28 currencies for holdings and home reporting. Coffer Pro lets you change that home reporting currency; the free plan keeps the currency selected during setup.

iCloud sync — release status

Coffer's private CloudKit sync is wired, but its Production schema and bidirectional device behavior are still being verified before the App Store release. Until that gate passes, do not rely on an internal TestFlight build as your only cross-device copy.

Once release verification passes, signing in to the same Apple ID on each device is intended to enable automatic sync with no Coffer account or separate setup.

Exporting or erasing your data

Export

Settings → Export transactions creates a free CSV of income, expenses, and transfers. Settings → Export CSV creates the Pro holdings-and-funding-sources file. Either file can be saved to Files or shared through another app and never passes through a Coffer server.

Start fresh

To clear your financial records, go to Settings → Start fresh. Coffer deletes those records from its local SwiftData store, then creates an empty default Home book and Cash account so the app remains usable. Export a CSV first if you want a backup.

When Coffer is using CloudKit, those deletions are sent to iCloud the next time sync completes. This may not be immediate while the device is offline.

Deleting the Coffer app removes its local data from that device, but does not by itself cancel a subscription or guarantee removal of synced iCloud records. To manage the iCloud copy after deletion, go to iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Managing your subscription & restoring purchases

Coffer subscriptions are billed by Apple through the App Store. Coffer uses RevenueCat to reconcile App Store purchases and Pro entitlements. Neither Coffer nor RevenueCat receives your payment-card details; RevenueCat receives purchase and entitlement information plus an anonymous app-user identifier and ordinary app and device details, but not your Coffer ledger. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Privacy

Coffer is built with privacy by design. It contains no ads, advertising identifiers, behavioral product-analytics SDKs, or advertising trackers, and no Coffer backend receives your ledger. Limited HTTPS requests send the identifiers and currencies needed for supported price and FX updates; those providers handle connection information under their own policies. Purchase and entitlement information is processed as described above. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
